Duke vs. Butler and UConn vs. Stanford are at the forefront of basketball fans’ minds as the NCAA Championship game 2010 is here. It is more proper to same “games,” of course, as the Women’s championship is also a highly-anticipated event. Will the University of Connecticut Huskies (38-0) extend their winning streak to a massive 78 games? Will Stanford (36-1) have even the slightest chance again the juggernaut? Some people are hoping that an upset will be made with the Men considering the Duke (34-5) vs. Butler (33-4) matchup. Most experts, in both cases, are going with Goliath – this means they expect UConn for women to win and Duke for men.
The NCAA 2010 Championship game – time?
Tuesday April 6th the women can be found playing their championship game on CBS while the Duke-Butler game can be found at 9:21 PM Eastern time tonight. Make sure you add extra time to the end if you are setting up your DVR to watch the game later. Since Basketball is so unpredictable, you should add at least an hour of extra recording time to compensate for games with a lot of fouls or overtime. If you need any pay day loans to help you buy a bigger HD TV for your DVR, then you should do it now.
What to watch in the Duke vs. butler matchup
Butler might pressure Duke out of their comfort zone with their defense and scrapping on the board. Scoring the ball will require that Matt Howard, Shelvin Mack and Gordon Heyward – who the Kansas City Star points out take three-quarters of Butler’s shots – must be firing on all cylinders. Unfortunately for them, Duke is a disciplined team that loves to defend on the perimeter. They also happen to be excellent at making rebounds which helps a lot with their less than great outside game. The fact that Duke does such a good job of taking care of the ball could take away Butler’s number one weapon of helter-skelter pressure defense.
UConn vs. Stanford – Can Connecticut lose?
They definitely could lose. Stanford did go 36-1 during the regular season, which means they’re a strong unit. However, UConn is among the most dominant teams in the history of the NCAA Championship game, in 2010 or any other year. Just like the popularity of payday loans, it isn’t a fluke they won 77 games in a row. Regularly they will win by 20 or 30 points, led by the post play of Maya Moore and Tina Charles and balanced scoring overall. Consider this: According to Bleacher Report, UConn has an average of 82.1 points per game within their 77 game winning streak while allowing only 46.1 points per game. Stanford will need a miracle.
